Smoke & Pink Gloss

Welcome to my first tutorial!!

In today's blog, I'm going to be doing the below look.

I originally started out this look as an everyday work look, but then I added too much highlighter and the rest of the look completely didn't work anymore! So I changed it up a bit and added a flick of eyeliner and a colourful lip to make it work! What a numpty eh...?

So if you want to see how I achieved this look then keep scrolling! :-)

I started with the L'oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer
I use a mattifying primer as I have a very oily T-Zone and have found that this helps control that area more than other primers I have tried.
Using two pumps of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Gel Foundation in the colour 51 Light Vanilla on the back of the hand, I used the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to buff this all over the face and neck.

Using the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Fair 1. I LOVE THIS CONCEALER!! It literally covers everything, and as I am SO red from all my blemishes and flare ups, this helps so much.

You can see I have mainly kept my concealer to the centre of my face, apart from the few blemishes I need to cover.
This is part of the contouring process. As the concealer is light (and as a pale person, it's hard to find concealer lighter than my skin!) I want to keep it to centre to brighten this up.

I used the same Real Techniques Buffing Brush to blend all of this in/out.

Once you have blended this out, it's time to set all of the hard work you have just done!

I have used the Collection Pressed Powder in translucent and the Eco Tools Blush Brush. I find that the pointed tip of this brush helps me get powder into hard to reach places such as the corners of the eyes and around the edges of the nostrils.
Once again, you're going to want to focus on setting the centre of your face as this is the area that moves the most and creases quite easily.

Now to contour...

Firstly I used the B. Sunkissed Bronzer in Light and a big fluffy brush (Which I got from Amazon SO LONG AGO and have no idea what it's called) added this to the temples, under the cheekbones, along the jawline and down the sides of my neck.

Using the Makeup Revolution Mono Eyeshadow in Mocha Love and the Real Techniques Sculptng Brush, I have added a this along the jawline, under the cheek bones and to the side of my forehead. The reason I use an eyeshadow is that because I am so pale, it's difficult to find a bronzer or sculpting powder that won't make me look orange. The eyeshadows have more variation, therefore giving me the option to use a cool toned brown to match my skintone.
I also used a smaller eyeshadow brush to add this down the sides of my nose, from the eyebrow extending downwards. Then using the unnamed fluffy brush, I blended this all in.
Please take care not to bring the darker colour downwards, if anything, you want to blend this up wards, defining the cheekbones even more.

Using the Makeup Revolution Mono Eyeshadow in Base! and the real Techniques Setting Brush, I lightly added this to the top of the cheek bone. I used a little more than I thought hence the huge amounts of shiny!!
I also added it the the cupid's bow (Top of the lip) and down the centre of the nose.

With the Seventeen Cheeks Brush, I added a small amount of Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar. With these blushes and eyeshadows, they are so pigmented that you only need the tiniest amount and for £1.00 a pop, they are an absolute steal!!

I used the Holy Grail of brow products to achieve a defined and bold brow. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown.
I applied this with the ABH Brow and Spooly Brush (Number 12) to give it a really sharp edge.
I applied this firstly to the underside of the brow, to give it a defined arch, and then filled in the rest of the brow. Using the Spooly end, I gently rubbed over the brow to blend out any sharp edges,

I then went in with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer and the Bareminerals brush (I'm so sorry, I can't remember the name but it came a kit I had last Christmas!) to go back in under the brow and hightlight this area, and also to clean up any mistakes I may have made.

To keep the brows in place, I used the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown.

Onto the eyes!! I used the above pallette to create this look. I used the shades: Flaw (top left), Taupe (third from left, second up), Rosewood (fourth from left, second up),  and Earth (bottow right, second one in).

Using the fluffy end of the Urban Decay Naked 2 Brush, I have swept Rosewood into the crease, blending it back and fore and swirly around at the edges to make sure the colour gets in everywhere and is blended nicely.

Using the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush, I add Earth to the outer V and bring it lightly along the lower lash line.

Using the same brush, I then added Taupe all over the lid and again along the lower lash line blending downwards to give the eyes a larger appearance. I then added Flaw to the inner corner and brow bone, using the Vintage Cosmetics Eyeshadow Brush

I then go back in with the BH Cosmetics Blending Brush to go back over everything to make sure that it all blends together seamlessly.

Now that that's done, it's time to add the eyeliner and mascara.

I added a flick of Make Up Store Cake Eyeliner in Black with a Da Vinci Fine Eyeliner brush. I did a small flick to glam this up a little bit.
I then curled by eyelashes and added two coats of L'oreal Telescopic mascara is Extra Black.

For lips, I wanted to make this super glossy and pink as the colours on the eyes are matte and don't have very much colour.

Firstly, I lined the lips with Revlon Colorstay Lipliner in Pink/Rose.

Then with the same lipliner, I fiilled in the entire lip so that the colour will hold.

Then I added the Kiko Cosmetics 3D Instant Volume Lipgloss in shade 218.

So this is the finished look, a little bit more than general everyday wear! Haha I think I'll revisit that idea another day!
